SOS
Synopsis
SOS – New Jersey is losing veteran educators in record numbers and 40 percent of new teachers are leaving the classroom within three years. SOS (Support on Site) is designed to reduce teacher turnover and rejuvenate veteran teachers. SOS started out at Ann A Mullen Middle School in Sicklerville, and originally focused on new teachers, but it has expended its scope to include veteran teachers. While veteran teachers mentor the less experienced educators, in turn newer teachers help veterans with the ever changing technology demands. Surviving and thriving in the public schools is the goal of the program.
