Students and staff at Eugene A. Tighe Middle School in Margate find ways to use their school garden year-round. During the school year the garden is used to teach science and math concepts and students sample the food it produces through the Garden Gourmet program. Over the summer, students volunteer to work in the garden and to sell the fresh produce at a local farmers’ market. Unsold produce is donated to the NJ Food Bank.
