For 20 years, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture has conducted the Envirothon, a dynamic, hands-on statewide environmental education program for high school students. Teams of students compete in challenges related to soils, forestry, aquatics, wildlife ecology and current environmental issues. As a result, students become better-informed, active participants in natural resource management decisions and problem-solving.
