Back in Black and Gold
Synopsis
Back in Black and Gold – Dwight D. Eisenhower School music teacher Jesse Ryan puts the “A” in STEAM and the cool in school with a “School of Rock” program for the eighth-grade class. Students audition their musical talents both vocally and instrumentally and work yearlong to perform the “Back in Black and Gold” Rock Band program. The students select the songs, stage the show, design the band’s name and make the graphics for the band’s logo. The proceeds from the evening concert benefit the Graeme Preston Foundation for Life and the Kevin Riley Clawson Living by Giving Foundation. Graeme Preston and Kevin Clawson were seventh grade students at Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School when they were killed in a skateboarding accident in 2008.
