Electronic Dictionary

Season 2005-06
Hipp

Synopsis

Deaf and hearing-impaired students at Midland Park High School lag behind their hearing peers in vocabulary knowledge and reading ability by an average of two or more grade levels. These vocabulary gaps, which are unique to each individual, impinge on the student’s complete comprehension of facts and concepts in the school. The Hipp Grant pays for Franklin Electronic Dictionary for every hearing-impaired or deaf student enrolled in the Secondary Hearing Impaired Program. This program was funded through an NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation grant.
