Forward to the Past – Students from Roosevelt Elementary School in River Edge are raising money to preserve the 4,000 historic artifacts that were damaged in a flood. Working with the Bergen County Historical Society, the students – performing as colonial and modern day children – produce a video to help raise money for the project. Historic New Bridge Landing is the site of a pivotal bridge crossing where General George Washington led his troops from defeat, inspiring Thomas Paine to write his famous essay that began with “These are the times that try men’s souls.” For more information, go to bergencountyhistory.org.
