Growing Minds – Fourth-grade students at Maple Avenue and McKinley Elementary schools in Newark are Growing Minds. Back in September, first lady Michele Obama visited the school to bring attention to the Growing Minds program developed by math and science teacher Natasha Parrilla. The program enables the students to enhance their understanding of nutrition, make healthy food choices, and initiate healthy cooking at home.
