Immersion in Granada
Synopsis
Immersion in Granada – East Windsor high school students spend more than two weeks totally immersed in a Spanish culture. Six years ago, Hightstown High School Spanish teacher Candice Bland created a program with a transatlantic cohort at the University of Granada in Spain. The program is a microcosm of a University semester abroad, but for high school students. Because of the success of the program, it has been installed in both Mercer and Ocean county community colleges. The students can earn three credits while spending 18 days in Spain, attend 45 hours of course work at the University of Granada’s Center of Modern Languages.
