It Takes a Village RBB – Educators from Red Bank Primary School team up with the community to turn a once failing school into a successful thriving learning environment. With 90 percent of their student population on a free or reduced lunch and a high Hispanic population struggling to learn English, the school has increased the number of ESL and Bilingual certified teachers. Because the school is significantly underfunded, they have had to rely on community partners to meet the needs of the students. Count Basie Theater provides teaching artists, YMCA provides swimming lessons, day schools provide tuition free summer programs for low income children, and RSVP provides seniors to read to the students. There are several other programs such as free dental and optical care.
