Students from Bernards Middle and High Schools in Bernardsville had the opportunity to Meet the Composer Joseph and to create and perform a suite of musical pieces. Turrin first selected lyrics written by two high school students. He then wrote the music and worked with both the band and chorus in composing the musical movements. Turrin conducted more than 30 workshops, classes, and rehearsals to prepare the students for the final performance in May of 1996.
