Founded by NJEA in the fall of 2006, the Center for Teaching and Learning is a not-for-profit foundation that was established to empower teacher-led school reform with the goal of dramatically improving student achievement. The Center’s first major program was the Progressive Science Initiative (PSI) which has led to dramatic gains in student achievement in science. In 2011, the Center won a Gold Award in a worldwide education competition at the IMS Global Learning Impact Awards.
