Teacher of the Year 2010 – Maryann Woods-Murphy is the 2010 New Jersey Teacher of the Year. The Spanish teacher at Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale encourages her students to examine global issues from multiple perspectives. The teacher of the year also believes in mentoring, and is joined her daughter Melynda Bowie who teaches at Emil Cavallini Middle School in Upper Saddle River.
