ESL Autobiographies – School is a challenge for every child, but especially when they are from a different country and they don’t speak English. Celena Spencer teaches English as a Second Language at McManus Middle School in Linden and she reaches the students through their own life experiences. Seventeen students with unique stories unite their voices with moving stories about their lives, from surviving the Haiti earthquake to the trauma of leaving their home countries.
