New Jersey Naturally
Synopsis
Students in North Arlington planted a butterfly garden as part of a meadow restoration project at a local firehouse. The garden is designed to restore an unsightly area near a landfill to the beautiful meadow it once was. This project teaches students about the importance of mentoring. The middle school ecology club works with fifth graders to teach them the importance of environmental education. This program was funded through an NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation grant.
