Studies show that tooth decay is increasingly a disease of children from low- to moderate-income households. For their effort to reinforce the importance of oral health education all year long, Norman S. Weir Elementary School in Paterson is one of five schools in Abbott (underserved) districts to receive a grant from the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation. High school students from Harp Academy’s dental hygiene program teach the younger students how to care for their teeth while introducing them to the different jobs in a dentist’s office.
