Students from Pinelands Middle and High schools teach younger students at Bass River Elementary how to sign with their hearts. The older students have multiple learning and physical disabilities, but that doesn’t stop them from telling stories about firefighters through sign language. This experience teaches New Gretna children of all ages and abilities about self-esteem and confidence. This program was funded through an NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation grant.
